Japanese Maples are a wonderful group of plants that can grow in mixed boarders, individually as specimens or in containers. They prefer a neutral to acid soil, or Ericaceous compost for container planting. They also like dappled shade particularly in the morning, but the purple leaved varieties d like sun for the rest of the day. A sheltered position is preferred to get the best from late autumn colour changes of fiery reds, beautiful oranges and stunning yellows. If you need something bigger, larger plants are available for collection from the Garden Centre.
